Carlos Gila is an Adjunct Professor of Management at Columbia Business School in the USA and at IE University.

Carlos began his professional career as a credit risk analyst and moved to become a strategic management consultant at Andersen Consulting. After he went to found and lead Gila&Co. to become the groundbreaking Turnaround Firm in Spain for more than a decade. From 2010 to 2022 Carlos was Senior Advisor for Oaktree Capital Management and now serves as an Advisor or non-executive Board Director in various companies, chairing audit and governance committees.

Moreover, he is widely recognized as one of the Spanish leading financial and operational crisis management professionals. He is also a hand-on expert in turnarounds and workouts, with extensive experience in acquisitions and divestures, bankruptcy reorganizations, and the restructuring of troubled businesses. He has been highlighted on National media as an authority on restructuring, and has been the recipient of the Turnaround Management Association´s “International Turnaround of the Year” Award in 2011.
