David S. Rohde is a highly respected American investigative journalist and author, serving as Senior Executive Editor for National Security at NBC News. Previously, he held leadership roles at The New Yorker and reported for The New York Times, Reuters, and Christian Science Monitor. A two-time Pulitzer Prize winner—first in 1996 for international reporting on the Srebrenica massacre, and again in 2009 as part of a Times team covering Afghanistan and Pakistan—Rohde is also known for surviving a Taliban kidnapping in 2008. He has authored several acclaimed books including A Rope and a Prayer, Endgame, and Where Tyranny Begins, and sits on the board of the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.
