Kai-Fu Lee is an AI Expert, Chairman & CEO of Sinovation Ventures, a leading Chinese technology venture capital firm. Lee is considered one of the world’s leading experts in artificial intelligence. A graduate in Computer Science from Columbia University, he obtained his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University where, as part of his thesis, he developed what is considered the first stand-alone speech recognition system: Sphinx.
He has worked for some of the most important companies in the industry such as Apple, SGI, Microsoft or Google, where he developed his career as president of the company’s subsidiary in China. In 2009 he founded Sinovation Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on developing the next generation of Chinese high-tech companies. He is the author of seven books that have become bestsellers in China and has more than fifty million followers on social networks.
Chen Qiufan is a Chinese science-fiction writer, columnist and scriptwriter. He graduated from Pekin University in 2004 with dual bachelor’s degrees in literature and fine arts, and pursued graduate studies in the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) program of Hong Kong University and Tsinghua University.
He has 10+ years experience on online advertising, marketing, branding and account management across Internet industry to real estate company. He used to work for Google, Baidu & Gemdale with excellent strength in creative, strategy & project management. He won several awards on creative marketing campaign for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and innovative project for customer engagement in 2010.
Qiufan won several awards including Taiwan Fantasy Award, Chinese Nebula Award, Chinese Galaxy Award, World SF&F Translation Award (First time for Chinese Writer).
