Fifty Words: A Collective Writing Experiment is a collaborative literary project born at IE School of Humanities to celebrate World Book Day and explore the creative potential of constraints.
Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham and the idea that limitations can foster imagination, students and faculty were invited to write a collective story using a curated list of fifty words developed in the course Literary Texts and Critical Methods. Each participant contributed a line, building upon the work of others and transforming a simple exercise into a shared act of creation.
The result is a unique text that reflects the diversity, creativity, and intellectual curiosity of the IE community. More than a story, Fifty Words is an experiment in collective authorship, demonstrating how individual voices can come together to create something larger than the sum of its parts.
Conceived and coordinated by Professor Goretti González and published by IE Editorial Knowledge, this volume celebrates collaboration, literary play, and the infinite possibilities that can emerge from just fifty words.
50 words, infinite possibilities.
