Incidencia pública: El poder en el siglo XXI
Description
How should companies and social organizations participate in public debate? What role do they play in established democracies? How can they engage citizens in major economic transformations?
Public advocacy has become a new superpower for organizations. This business practice, well established in the Anglo-Saxon world and practiced in Spain by the third sector, has been demonstrating for years that any significant change must be contrasted and validated by public opinion and interest groups. Only in this way can a positive impact on society be generated, promoting a more inclusive and collaborative vision to tackle current and future challenges.
In this book, the first guide on public advocacy in Spanish, political scientist Nacho Corredor and economist Adrian Jofre Bosch propose an approach to lead this process of immense significance. Because companies are more than just providers of services and products, and their decisions directly impact the societies in which they operate. Their involvement is essential to drive economic and social progress, as no major transformation is achieved unilaterally. They also provide a straightforward implementation method, concrete guidelines, and examples from different sectors (energy, banking, culture, regulation, etc.) to support public advocacy efforts.
Adrian Jofre Bosch is an associate professor of negotiation and public advocacy at IE University and the president of beBartlet, a public advocacy firm.
